Three excellent restaurants are located at Phipps Plaza, one of Atlanta’s most exclusive shopping venues in the heart of Buckhead. Phipps Plaza is located at 3500 Peachtree Road NE. The Tavern at Phipps, with its outside patio, is a Buckhead hot spot. The menu includes salads, deli style sandwiches, burgers, pasta, seafood, steaks, and ribs. Their famous Tavern chips with toppings can be an appetizer or a meal. Every Saturday is Country Night. Twist Restaurant and Tapas Bar has an eclectic/fusion menu. They offer tapas, small plates, wraps, satays, sushi, Kobe beef burgers, and prime steaks. There is a large bar area as well as patio seating. Davio’s Northern Italian Steak House features regional Italian food with a focus on the grill. Popular entrees include aged steaks, seafood, and handmade pasta. Davio’s is known for its spring rolls, which may be purchased frozen to take home.
The Buckhead Life Restaurant Group has several popular eateries. Buckhead Diner, at 3073 Piedmont Rd NE, offers upscale dining with retro style. The menu features sandwiches, burgers, steaks, seafood, meatloaf, and a daily “blue plate” special. Diners enjoy their “real” milkshakes and the famous white chocolate banana cream pie. Atlanta Fish Market, at 265 Pharr Rd NE, boasts the South’s widest selection of seafood flown in fresh daily. The atmosphere is upscale casual. A 2012 Zagat survey named Atlanta Fish Market the “Highest Rated Seafood in Atlanta.” The menu features Maine lobster, Alaskan snow crab legs, sushi, and surf and turf. Other restaurants in the Buckhead Life Group include Bistro Niko (French) at 3344 Peachtree Rd, Pricci (contemporary Italian) at 500 Pharr Rd, Kyma (contemporary Mediterranean seafood) at 3085 Piedmont Rd NE, Chops Lobster Bar (steaks and seafood) at 70 W Paces Ferry Rd, and Corner Café (European style bakery) at 3070 Piedmont Rd NE.
A 2012 Zagat survey named Bones Restaurant, at 3130 Piedmont Rd NE, the “Highest Rated Steakhouse in the US” for both food and service. Their menu features steaks, chops, and seafood. Wine Spectator gave Bones a Best Award of Excellence for its 20,000 bottle wine gallery.
Hal’s, at 30 Old Ivy Road, features continental Creole cuisine in a bistro atmosphere. The menu features steaks, veal, lamb, seafood, and pasta. There is live entertainment in the bar. Basil’s Restaurant and Tapas Bar, at 2985 Grandview Avenue, specializes in tapas, Spanish paella, and flavors of the Mediterranean.
Flip Burger Boutique is located at 3655 Roswell Road. This modern burger boutique features many innovative menu selections. Chef Richard Blais was the winner of Bravo’s Season 8 Top Chef All-Stars.
